Argonne Elementary Edible Garden

San Francisco, CA | 2011

Raised bed gardening and a fruit orchard offer year-round gardening education for K-6 students. Designed as a demonstration site for San Francisco’s Grey2Green project, and built by a crew of parent volunteers, the garden also incorporates native pollinator plants, and a small rain garden in the sidewalk. Planting selections include plants that will thrive in the fog-belt site, such as artichokes, kale, swiss chard, peas, strawberries, broccoli, apples and pears.
